In 2011 we were awarded the Man And the Biosphere Urban Wildlife Award for excellence. This award is given by the UK Committee of the UNESCO programme on Man and the Biosphere. It is to recognise the work of organisations that promote biodiversity and the interactions between people and the environment. This has been the focus of David’s work in the Wildlife Garden since 1999.
We were also awarded the London Spade Award by the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association for providing high quality environmental and horticultural education programmes.
In 2010 we received the ‘Sustainable City Award’ for our work on biodiversity and education for local communities.
