Linda Philips MBE
The Roots and Shoots Director founded the charity in 1982 after qualifying in Horticulture at RBG Kew. Linda was awarded an MBE for services to young people in the 2012 New Year Honours.
With more than a decade of administrative experience in the Finance sector Kerry has been helping us at Roots and Shoots, since January 2014.
David runs Roots and Shoots Environmental Education programme and our outreach. He manages the Wildlife Garden and Study Centre and organises special events.
Issy is the first person you meet when visiting Roots and Shoots. She looks after room bookings and events and also invoicing and financial data input.
David is a Brighton resident who is also a trustee. He is our volunteer finance manager.
Marcus works around the different programmes of study. As well as working with educational needs trainees have, he is also offers motivational guidance and practical support.
Retail Skills & Employability Trainer
Alva runs the City Guilds Retail Skills course and also does Creative Enterprise projects with visiting schools as part of Roots and Shoots Employability progra
Amanda is our horticulture trainer and runs the Grow, Cook and Eat course at Rosendale Road Allotments in Herne Hill.
Functional Skills Teacher and IQA
Angela is responsible for the delivery of Functional Skills programmes (English, Maths and ICT). She is also an internal quality assurer
Elaine is our new florist at Roots and Shoots. She delivers the Floral design corse and organises floral arrangements for special events and functions
Phillip prepares a variety of dishes suitable for conferences, meetings and our new community social club 'The Magpie Kitchen' held at Roots and Shoots.
Carlene is a former trainee who did very well and has been our catering assistant for events, meetings and conferences for more than four years.
